Learning about France

We are learning about different countries.
We had a wonderful talk today from the mum of a girl in our class.
Tracy has lived in France for many years, so she was able to tell us lots of interesting things about France.
We saw the French flag, a map of France and where France is on our globe.
We were surprised to hear that France is so near to us.
We learned lots of things about famous places in France (the Eiffel Tower, Mont Blanc which is the highest mountain in Europe, Disneyland just outside Paris).
We heard (with interest) about some of the delicious? foods in France like over 600 types of cheese (yum), snails (not so yum) and frog's legs (sound really odd).  Tracy even brought us some delicious butter biscuits and some spicy sausage to try.  We have decided we love French food!
We also talked about famous sports in France like the Tour de France cycling race, and the Euro UEFA 2016 (football) which will be held in France in 2016.
We learned some French words to,o like merci (thank you), bonjour (hello), Happy Christmas (Joyeux Noel) and no, thank you (non, merci).
This was such an interesting afternoon for us, and we learned such a lot.
Merci beaucoup Tracy!
