We were looking carefully at the tips of our fingers today. We could see lines, whorls, ridges and splits. We were keen to make a print of our fingers so we got
- a pieceof paper
- a pencil
- sticky tape
We drew a dark smudge on the paper with our pencils, then pushed a finger into this smudge.

We stuck this smudgy finger onto a piece of sticky tape, lifted our fingers and stuck this tape (along with the fingerprint) onto our books.

Some of us used magnifying glasses to examine our fingerprints. Everyone in the world has different fingerprints. Police use the matching of fingerprints to catch criminals.
