Making simple circuits

In class we have been talking about electricity, how Michael Faraday discovered electricity.  We talked about keeping safe around electricity in the house, and we made our own electric circuits.  We also had a chat about what life was like long ago without electricity, about what children of long ago might have played with (because there was no electricity back then) and about how machines in the house have changed since electricity became available.
Today we made simple circuits.
The first time we tried we used a battery, a bulb and two wires.
The next time we used a battery, a bulb but only one wire.
We were safe touching these wires because we were working with batteries.
We never touch the sockets in class.  This keeps us safe.
Here are some fun games you can play to help understand electricity.
