The Stay Safe Programme

In our class we will be working on the Stay Safe Programme for the next six weeks or so.
This programme is designed to help your child stay safe in various situations.
Please take a moment to see what it is all about and please discuss with your child what they are learning about on this programme.

Snowmen

Even though the weather is wet rather than cold, it is still winter.
We coloured some lovely snowmen and used packing peanuts to stick on their bodies.
We really enjoyed working with these packing peanuts.

Electrical circuits

We have been talking about electricity.
Yesterday we saw how to make a circuit.
Today we gave it a try for ourselves.
In groups of three, we were given a battery, a bulb and two wires and we had to get the bulb to light.
It was quite a challenge but when we worked together we could get the bulbs lighting.
Next teacher took away one wire and we had to light the bulb again, this time with just a bulb, a battery and only one wire.
We are good at this when we work together.
Tomorrow we will talk about electrical safety.

A huge well done to Jakub Belzokwski, Julia Matysik and Max Agu from our class and Rodrigo Marinez from Ms. Ferguson's class whose entries were also of extremely high standard.

Well done to you all!

Number stories

We enjoy figuring out number stories.
Today we worked out all the number stories for the number 7.
We used matchsticks, magnets
hangers and pets, children and their sweets
and beads on a string to work out the number stories.
